Dynorphin research reagents
The dynorphins are the prodynorphin-derived opioid peptides and the endogenous ligands of the κ receptor, studied in dysphoria, stress and analgesia. Dynorphin A (1-17), its (1-13) and (1-8) fragments, dynorphin B and big dynorphin all share a Leu-enkephalin N-terminus, so they cross-react in any assay raised against that end, and the C-terminal extension is what carries κ selectivity. Fragment-specific material is therefore the only way to resolve the series.
