Overview
The Nasal Spray Reconstitution Kit bundles the two things a laboratory needs to convert a lyophilized peptide vial into a spray-format research preparation: an empty, sterile 15 mL bottle fitted with a fine-mist metered pump, and a matching bottle of buffered, preservative-containing spray diluent. The kit contains no active peptide; it is a set of consumables used with peptides purchased separately, and it is the same hardware used for our pre-filled Semax and Selank spray products.
The diluent is what separates this from a bottle of bacteriostatic water. It is sterile, buffered and isotonic with a preservative, formulated to hold a peptide in solution across a study period and to be dispensed as a fine mist, whereas bacteriostatic water is unbuffered and hypotonic and leaves pH and osmolality to whatever the peptide dictates. A metered atomiser of this type typically delivers on the order of 0.1 mL per actuation, so a full 15 mL bottle supports well over a hundred actuations, although the figure is confirmed gravimetrically wherever it matters to the result. The kit is stocked singly and as a three-pack, with blank labels for recording peptide identity, concentration and preparation date against the bottle.
Working out the concentration
Reconstitution is where the arithmetic lives. The same vial made up with 1 mL or with 3 mL of diluent gives three-fold different numbers, which is why a reconstitution volume calculator is more use here than a fixed table: enter the vial mass and your diluent volume and read the concentration back.
